New Year New Project

My Own little corner of my own little room.
I think that since I need to learn to use my new camera that I will attemp to take a picture a day this year.  While I don't expect to become a great photographer it could be an interesting project and I could end up with an interesting assortment of photos.  Of course I could also just end up with a bunch of junk.

Technically this was a photo from day one.  The other photos were taken around midnight New Years Eve.

Hopefully the photos will be a bit more interesting over time.  Who knows

Rock-n-Roll Animals

Hoagie is a Nashville Cat

Dachi Rocks

I should be working on my "regular" art but when I came across the source image for these I could not help but play with them.  I had been wanting to do a  rock-roll cat for awhile.  The Dachi head was easy to find in my photos so I tryed the image with him first.  Not bad but I really had invisioned a Nashville cat when I thought of this

Making Faces

I was able to finish making my faces for March. I ended up with 4 new pieces to put into the gallery. That's not really too bad. Here are photos of the finished pieces.

Tangleing at Fresh

I did some informal demonstrating on zentangles this weekend at Fresh Gallery. The photos are of two of the people who came by to play. The tangles are ones that they created while at the gallery.

This piece started out as a piece of collage paper.

Pieces of paper that were put together with glue to make one big piece of paper. Next I embroidered the face image.I put the paper onto a piece of felt and stitched onto it. It still needed something so I put a shear synthetic fabric over the image, did some free motion machine stitching over it and then shot it with a heat gun to melt and distress the synthetic fabric.
The close up is of the face after it had been stitched around and distressed.
I haven't finished with her yet. I am going to fuse tissue paper to some more felt to make a background fabric. I think that I will put some washes of paint on the background fabric then attache this first piece onto it.
I'll upload more images as this project progresses.

Fabric Faces for March

Another month and another rush to create some "Fresh" art for Fresh Gallery.

Here are some of the pieces I am going to try and complete to exhibit in March. I thought I would try to post some of my in progress photos of what I am working on.
I will be posting more images as I work on them.
